Jenny was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, and she is a graduate of the College of Charleston and Charleston School of Law. Jenny is an experienced attorney who holds an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and she is a frequent speaker at local, state, and national continuing legal education seminars.

She has previously served for many years as the planner and moderator of the annual Guardian ad Litem training, sponsored by the South Carolina Bar, which provides training for Guardians ad Litem throughout the state to maintain their certification to serve in contested family court cases.

Jenny also edited both editions of The South Carolina Guardian ad Litem Toolkit, which were published in March 2014 (1st Edition) and in November 2021 (2nd Edition) by the South Carolina Bar CLE Division (with a new edition currently in the works). This valuable resource has been very well received by judges and attorneys all across our state.

Professional & Community Involvement

When she is away from work, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and close friends, doting on her cats, and making her way through an ambitious reading list that seems to grow faster than she can finish it.

Jenny’s approach to family law is shaped by more than professional training and years of courtroom experience. It’s also shaped by a deeply personal understanding of the issues that bring families into court in the first place. Her life experience with marriage, separation, divorce, blended family relationships, co-parenting, custody modifications, and adoption gives her a perspective that is compassionate, practical, and profoundly informed.

As a family court attorney, Guardian ad Litem, mediator, child custody litigation consultant, and private litigation client coach, Jenny understands that families in transition need more than technical legal knowledge. They need wisdom, strategy, perspective, and someone who understands how high the stakes can feel when children, identity, finances, and their brighter future are all on the line. She brings that understanding to the forefront in every case she handles.
